Part of the Process
Presented in archival boxes the work explores densities of ink and water on standard paper formats with photographic size mounts. Alessandra Sormani invites the viewer to ‘edit’ the work by selecting a piece for themselves. This work in progress forms part of a project researching the effect of colour on choice. The act of choosing is similar to the editing process Alessandra Sormani uses for her work as a photographer but the control is handed over to the viewer to choose and decide a value for the work.

One painting cut into parts from the first experimentations of the series of oil paintings based on sound recordings. The cut up painting forms part of a series and journey to somewhere. Some parts have been sold, exchanged or given away and have found a destination elsewhere.
